Cisco Catalyst 2960 rebooting
Problem:
Customer states that his Cisco Catalyst 2960, they have changed the power supply but the Switch still rebooting. They tried to upgrade it but it won't let them.
Resolution:
First, we asked the customer to review the logs and check if he sees the error “%PLATFORMENV-1-FRUPS_ACCESS: UNKNOWN or UNSUPPORTED Power Supply” in the log.
Asked to run "show version", "show post", "show environment", show diagnostic result", show logging", "show diag result" command to verify if there are any errors or warnings.
The switch recognized the Power Module and the the Power Cable
Since there are no software errors, we started checking the hardware.
Checked the LEDs status, first started to be Amber LED, then Green LED and the booting time rise up to 5-10 min.
Suggested for a RMA.
